The first Ottawa Armenian Festival started in the capital of Canada.

The opening ceremony took place outside the Ottawa City Hall where Armenian Ambassador to Canada Armen Yeganyan and Deputy Mayor of Ottawa Steve Desroches hoisted the Festivals' flag during the ceremony.

The purpose of the festival held from September 14 to September 16 is to introduce residents of the Canadian capital to Armenian culture, traditions, songs, dances, and cuisine. Choruses and dance groups representing Armenian communities of several Canadian cities will participate in the festival. A liturgy will be offered. Jazz concerts and performances are scheduled to take place.
