The shameful deal between Azerbaijan and Hungary that resulted in the extradition and pardoning of Azeri murderer Ramil Safarov, was a serious blow to the Karabakh peace process. It also stymied the efforts to strengthen regional security and stability, Armenia's Foreign Minister Edward Nalbandian said in Los Angeles.

In his speech in the city's World Affairs Council, Mr. Nalbandian said that the deal was another attempt by Azerbaijan to thwart the efforts of the OSCE Minsk group mediators.

The meeting was attended by diplomats, political scientists, journalists, representatives of the U.S. Department of State and journalists.

Despite Azerbaijan's destructive endeavours, Armenia will continue its efforts towards the peaceful settlement of the Karabakh conflict, based on the principles and norms of international law enshrined in the U.N. Charter," said the Armenian official.
