Arrest made in “library” case
The former head of the Construction Policy Department of the Ministry of Urban Development Gor Kamalyan was arrested on September 28 in the criminal case opened in connection with large-scale embezzlement of property and abuse of official authority during major repairs of the National Library of Armenia.
He is suspected of abusing his official authority - a crime under Article 308 Part 2 of the RA Criminal Code.
Let us remind that the Department for the Protection of State Interests of the RA Prosecutor General's Office opened a criminal case on 25 September 2012, in connection with cases of large-scale embezzlement of property and abuse of official authority by an employee of a commercial organization during major repairs of the National Library of Armenia. The Main Investigation Department of the Police is investigating the criminal case.
