Illegal hunting place found
"Khosrov Reserve" Civil Initiative issued the following statement:
"On the evening of September 27, members of the civil initiative Mariam Sukhudyan and Yeghina Nersesyan received a written notification from the investigation unit of Ararat province to come to the investigation unit on the next morning in order to act as witnesses in the criminal case opened in connection with illegal hunting in the Khosrov Reserve.
Early in the morning of September 28 Sukhudyan and Nersesyan together with their representative (lawyer G. Davtyan) went to the mentioned place where they gave written testimony about the traces of illegal hunting that they found in Khosrov Reserve on September 19.
After testifying, Sukhudyan and Nersesyan together with their representative, the investigators, the head and an employee of Kaqavaberd section of the Khosrov State Reserve drove to the scene where environmentalists A. Zohrabyan and M. Khacahtryan joined them.
With the assistance of witnesses M. Sukhudyan and E. Nersesyan, the place of illegal hunting (the scene) was found. There was already stench there. They said that some items and traces had already been removed from the scene, but with their assistance, the investigators examined the scene and found and seized a bezoar goat's head, the entrails of animals, broken branches, and other items, the area was filmed, and a report was drawn up. The investigators will send the seized items for examination.
Taking into account the fact that an investigation is already being conducted, our civil initiative refrains from announcing any details.
