17-year-old boy is ill because of humidity
Gyumri resident Arpenik is a disabled single parent who lives in a damp shack. Her 17-year-old son Tigran will be drafted into the army next year.
Tigran is constantly ill because of the humidity. Unlike hundreds of other families living in the same wretched conditions, Arpenik's family has received a two-room apartment in one of the city's newly constructed districts though they lost a three-room apartment during the 1988 earthquake. The Urban Development Ministry has cut one room as the number of family members reduced by one, local Shirak Centre NGO reports.
