Raisa Mkrtchyan: It is absurd
Aram Khachatryan Concert Hall in Yerevan will host on Nov 18 a jubilee concert of RA People's Artist Raisa Mkrtchyan, who has decided to sing again after a long pause.
The artistic director of the concert Armen Manukyan says numerous surprises are awaiting the audience during the concert.
"Come and watch if you are interested. Participating at the concert will be Mkrtchyan's daughter, a famous singer in Russia, and pianist Daniel Kramer," he said.
Speaking about her silence during today's press conference, Raisa Mkrtchyan said, "Recording of songs requires great sums of money and I cannot afford it. The money spent on each song is absurd if compared with miserable wages given in the country."
The People's Artist of Armenia says today people do not need the art she is representing.
"I sing songs written by professional composers who considered my abilities when writing these songs," she said.
In the end, the singer shared her concerns over songs heard by children. "This is the result of propaganda our children are not guilty of," she said.
