Armenian lawmakers in high spirits after Tuesday's football match
A bill on granting tax and customs privileges to a government-proposed international school to be built in the resort town of Dilijan today passed its first reading in the Armenian National Assembly with a vote of 87 in favor, five against, and 20 abstentions. Nikol Pashinyan, a lawmaker from the Armenian National Congress (ANC), Zaruhi Postanjyan and Ruben Hakobyan, MPs from the Heritage, Naira Zohrabyan and Gurgen Aesenyan, MPs from the Prosperous Armenia Party (PAP), voted against the bill. Representatives of the Armenian Revolutionary Federation - Dashnaktsutyun, ANC and seven members of the PAP abstained from voting.
During the NA sitting, Republican MP Koryun Nahapetyan announced on behalf of the present MPs that they are in high spirits following Armenia's smashing victory over Denmark in a World Cup qualifier in Copenhagen on Tuesday evening.
