Nine civilians killed in US missile attack
Support A1+!Nine civilians including four children were killed in the US missile attack on a Syrian airbase near the city of Homs on Friday, the Syrian state news agency said. The SANA report said the civilians died in villages near the airbase. It said seven more people had been wounded and homes in the area had been badly damaged. The UK Government has offered its full support to the surprise barrage of 59 Tomahawk cruise missiles, which were launched from US ships in the Mediterranean and struck the Shayrat air base in central Syria in the early hours of Friday. Russian President’s Spokesman Dmitry Peskov said the attack stemmed from the interests of the Islamic state and Jabhat al-Nusra. Vladimir Putin called the US strike ‘an act of aggression.’ Following the deadly US missile attack on the Sha'irat airfield, Russia suspended its memorandum of understanding on air safety over Syria with the United States. US President said Tomahawk missiles targeted airstrips, hangars, control towers and ammunition areas in Sharyat.
