AN EARTHQUAKE IN ERZRUM

FIRE IN THE CENTRAL POST OFFICE

LIFE PRISONERS WENT ON A HUNGER-STRIKE
About 30 life prisoners of "Noubarashen" Criminal penitentiary institution have gone on hunger-strike since November 1. The Minister of Justice confirmed the fact too. Several hours later the Ministry made a statement, «On November 1 of the current year 24 prisoners of Noubarashen Criminal penitentiary institution ceased their hunger strike which they had started earlier that day».
“ARMENTEL” IS OFFICIALLY NOT SOLD
The RA Ministry of Transport and Communication has not received a corresponding document from Greek company OTE about the sale of 90% of the shares of “ArmenTel”, press secretary of the Ministry Tamara Ghalechyan informed.
KILLED HIS WIFE
On October 31, 2006, at about 01:30 p.m. A. Ghazaryan (b. 1972) from village of Urtsadzor, Ararat region, killed his wife Anna Hovhannisyan (b. 1983) with his hunting rifle after which he went to the police.

THE STATE CAN ONLY GRANT A STATUS
Head of the Migration department of the Ministry of regional governing Gagik Eganyan gets 4-5 applications a day from the Armenians of Iraq. Today during the seminar titled “Dual citizenship and migration issues under the light of integration processes” Gagik Eganyan mentioned that about 600 Armenians have been granted temporary status; 390 of them are from Lebanon.
