THE SUCCESS OF “ADANA” IS SCOTLAND
In the third match of the first qualifying phase of the UEFA cup which took place in Scotland futzal champion of Armenia “Adana” beat “Fair City” from Scotland 5:3 and topped the list of the third group with 7 points.
THE 4th ROUND WAS SUCCESFUL FOR ARMENIANS
The 4th round of the European Youth Chess Championship was successful for the Armenian representatives. Out of ten our participants seven celebrated victory.
10-YEAR-OLD TIGRAN PLAYS EXCELLENTLY
The European Championship of young chess players is going on in Montenegro. After the third round 10-year old Tigran Haroutyunyan has celebrated three victories and tops the list. Zaven Andreasyan and Avetiq Grigoryan (18-year-old age group) have 2.5 points each.
YOUNG CHESS PLAYERS IN THE EUROPEAN CHAMPIONSHIP
The Youth Chess Championship has started in Montenegro. A great number of Armenian chess players are participating in this championship.
PORTERFIELD AND GYULBUDAGHYANTS IN BERLIN CONFERENCE
On September 11 – 13 Yan Porterfield, chief coach of the Armenian national team and Armen Gyulbudaghyants, chief coach of the national team under 19 will participate in the joint conference titled “2006 and future” organized by FIFA and UEFA presidents for national chief coaches in Berlin.

All the four meetings of the 19th round of the Armenian Football Championship ended 4:1 which is an exclusive coincidence in the history of our football
ARMENIA OCCUPIES THE LAST PLACE IN THE FIRST GROUP
Azerbaijan – Khazakhstan, Finland – Portugal and Poland – Serbia meetings were held in the elimination trials of “Euro – 2008” alongside with Armenian – Belgium meeting. All these meetings ended in a draw - 1:1. Only Armenia lost the meeting to Belgium by 0:1 and appeared in the last place of the 1st group.
ARMENIANS IN THE ISTANBUL TOURNAMENT
Armenian chess players play successfully in the international chess tournament in Istanbul. David Qalashyan who represents Armenia and David Haroutyunyan and Georgi Bagaturov who represent Georgia currently share the second place with 5.5 points each.
«EURO-2008» STARTS FOR ARMENIA TOO
Today at 09:00 p.m. the National football team of Armenia will host the national team of Belgium in the «Hanrapetakan» stadium. This is the first match of Armenia within the framework of the qualifying round of «EURO-2008», whereas the Belgians have already drawn with Kazakhstan 0:0.

NATIONAL TEAM OF BELGIUM TO ARRIVE IN YEREVAN
The national football team of Belgium will arrive in Yerevan tonight. On September 6 Armenia will meet with them in the first match within the framework of the qualifying round of «EURO-2008». Our opponents will arrive in Yerevan without leading defenders Vincent Kompany and Thomas Vermaelen.

The Armenian Youth football team beat the Youth team of Norway 1:0 in the «Hanrapetakan» stadium of Yerevan within the framework of the European Football Championship 2008.

ARONYAN WILL PLAY WITH SVIDLER
Best chess player of Armenia Levon Aronyan will play with Peter Svidler from Russia on 15-10 August in Mainz, Germany. They will play for the title of the champion of «Chess-960».
«KILIKIA» LOST AGAIN
In the first qualifying phase of the Intertoto Cup «Kilikia» Yerevan lost the second match to «Dinamo» Tbilisi 3:0. The first two goals were scored in the first time, and the third was scored three minutes before the end of the match.
“PYUNIK” WILL PLAY WITH THE CHAMPION OF MOLDOVA
The casting of lots for the first qualifying phase of the 2006-2007 Champions League took place in the Swiss city of Nion. According tot he selection champion of Armenia «Pyunik» will play with «Sheriff», the champion of Moldova. The latter was the strongest of all the possible opponents of «Pyunik».
“MIKA” MOVED TO THE SECOND PLACE
There were two more meetings in the 11th round of the Armenian Football Championship. Vice champion “Mika” met bronze medal winner “Banants;” both of them were trying to take the second place. But “Mika” was able to beat “Banants” and move on to the 2nd place due to Armen Shahgeldyan’s shoot.
“ARARAT” CONTINUES TO WIN
In the Football Championship of Armenia “Ararat” Yerevan beat “Gandzasar” Kapan 3:1. Although the first goal was scored by “Gandzasar” at the 16th minute, “Ararat» managed to score twice before the interval. In the second time “Ararat” confirmed the victory with a third goal. At present “Ararat” is in the fourth place.
ARONYAN’S NEXT SUPER TOURNAMNET
Grand Master Levon Aronyan, the best Armenian chess player left for Germany after the victory in the World Chess Olympiad where he will train for the international super tournament which will be held in Dortmund in July.
«KILIKIA» LOST THE MATCH
The start of «Kilikia» Yerevan in the first qualifying phase of the Intertoto Cup was extremely unsuccessful. The Armenian team played with “Dinamo” Tbilisi which comprises mainly young players.
«KILIKIA» TO UNDERGO AN ORDEAL
On June 18 «Kilikia» Yerevan will play with «Dinamo» Tbilisi within the framework of the first qualifying phase of the Intertoto Cup. In the current championship of Armenia “Kilikia” has gained only 9 points in 9 matches.
ARMENIAN WRESTLRS LEFT FOR KHASAVYURT
Armenian team of free-style wrestling left for Khasavyurt at the head of chief coach Hrant Enoqyan to participate in the international tournament which is to start on June 18.
