"Every person must find his toy" (video)
Young painter Vahe Hakobyan’s paintings will be shown at Quest Time Cafe for a week. 24 years old Vahe has painted since childhood, but he wasn’t able to finish National Academy of Fine Arts because of financial problems, “I am inspired by life, people, their actions, music. I only paint when I want. In a word, my art is called emotion.” Vahe is also author of many self-portraits, “At first I was painting myself as a poser, but then their number increased and my self-portraits became a way to express my soul.” Young painter has only one wish, “One of my friend’s grandfather used to say that every person must find his toy in his life and do only what he really likes. Today I work and have little time for painting. I only want to paint, as it is my toy, my life, my need. I don’t want to think about selling my paintings, as art is a demand of soul.” Vahe, who overcame many difficulties, urges his friends never give up and paint honestly, “There are many young people, who want to paint, but after graduation they are told that they can’t earn money with it and they give up painting. If we are led with this logic, we won’t achieve anything. Don’t give up and paint what you feel and want.”
