Economist: Depreciation of Russian ruble would affect Armenia's economy anyway (video)
Three months is not enough to solve all problems, economist Aza Mihranyan said speaking about Armenia’s accession to the Eurasian Economic Union. “Time is required to address all existing problems. Those are temporary problems and they exist in Russia, Kazakhstan and Belarus as well. The first six months will be a period of transition for us,” said the economist who has recently returned from Russia. The economist reminded that a forum of business circles of the EEU member states will be held soon which will focus on the existing problems and offer solutions to them. Economist Svetlana Glinkina agreed that the problems cannot be solved in an instant. Speaking about the impact of the Russian economy on Armenia, she said, “Today, many people are talking about the devaluation of the Russian ruble and the problems it caused in the EEU member countries. Even if Armenia did not join the EEU, the depreciation of the Russian currency would affect its economic relations,” she said.
