Journalist from Germany compares Vardavar with sexual act (video)
“There are more than 900 film festivals in the world. Each self-respecting country should afford to have such a festival which plays an important role in developing the country’s culture and boosting intercultural relations. In this regard, the "Golden Apricot" can be viewed as a democratic festival with the right approach,” chief editor of the magazine "Cinema Art" Daniel Dondurei said in Yerevan on July 13. Director David Matevosyan says the most important is that the Golden Apricot Yerevan International Film Festival (GAIFF) keeps away from provincial films. Independent journalist Alice, who arrived in Armenia from Germany, is participating in the festival for the third time. She likes the choice of films but says there are certain problems connected with organizational issues. Speaking about Vardavar, one of the most magnificent summer feasts in Armenia, the journalist said she was outraged by the water fest. “It's rather like sexual intercourse,” she said.
