How Golden Apricot manages to have such guests (video)
“I am surprised and I envy a little how Golden Apricot manages to have such guests,” says Deputy Director of Tbilisi International Film Festival Nino Anjaparidze. “Not taking into account some technical and organizational drawbacks, the Film Festival is certainly growing qualitatively,” assures Mrs. Nino. “Golden Apricot is the most popular film festival in the region and I think it is important for Armenia’s international reputation. Film festival is interesting meetings, communications, joint programs, which are very important for the development of filmmaking. Alas, the 1990s were a desperate period for cinematography in post-Soviet countries. New phase and some development started in the 2000s. And both Georgia and your country must be able to establish a new school, develop the national cinema. It is the matter.”
