Spokesperson for the Armenian Ministry of Health new information on the number of acute respiratory diseases observed in Armenia. “As of January 15, a total of 992 patients were hospitalized with flu and other respiratory infections. The overwhelming majority of the infected people (873) are below 18, 231 of the patients are under 18. Of the hospitalized patients 121 are pregnant women. Ninety-eight patients are being treated in intensive care units. Nine patients are connected to artificial respiration apparatuses. Unfortunately, we should say that despite the painstaking efforts of the staff of intensive care units two people died because of complications caused by the virus. They were hospitalized on January 13 in critical condition. Both of them had chronic diseases and were diagnosed with diabetes and cardio-pulmonary failure. They were connected to the artificial respiration apparatuses,” Anahit Haytayan said.
