Fundraising event for Gaspari's family
A group of citizens are organizing a fundraising event on Sunday to help the family of jailed civil activist Vardges Gaspari. “From 3pm to 6pm, on February 28, they will be holding a fundraiser at Liberty Square [near the Statue of Hovhannes Tumanyan]. The money will be sent to Gasparis’ wife Anahit Ayvazi. Vardges Gaspari has two sick children and the initiative is highly important for his family. Depending on the amount collected, the family may also cover the costs of Gaspari’s incarceration (medicines, food, clothing, etc.). In this way we shall try to help Gaspari who was the only breadwinner in the family. : Gaspari is one of the unique people in Armenia who have been leading uncompromising fight impunity and illegalities against Armenian citizens. We think it our moral duty to stand next to him and his family. Everyone's participation is extremely important,” the group said in a statement.
