Assistant to website’s director released on bail
Today the Court of Appeal has decided to release Varditer Gishyan, assistant to the director of “Analitik” website, on AMD 500.000 bail. As her advocate Stepan Voskanyan informed “A1+” today the sum will be paid and she will be released. The advocate submitted an appeal to the Court of Appeal for removal of her precautionary measure (detention). “The decision of the Court of First Instance was illegal,” added the advocate. To remind, Varditer Gishyan was charged with the article of extortion at the prior agreement of a group of people. The article determines 3-7 years’ imprisonment. The police received a report by the RA NA lawmaker Tigran Urikhanyan according to which the director of the website periodically published on the website false information, defamation and other incriminating materials about his person, family members and his activities as a lawmaker. The director of the website reportedly demanded that the lawmaker pay her AMD 300,000 every month for stopping the publication of articles. Varditer Gishyan does not admit the charges against her.
