Brides do not want to go and live in border Sarigyugh village (video)

Residents of Sarigyugh community in Armenia’s Tavush marz have forgotten when they last celebrated a wedding in their village though not all brides agree to come and live in this village. People have been carrying drinking water from a spring since time immemorial. A section of the interstate highway connecting Armenia and Georgia passes through this village. The locals are most worried about unemployment and emigration. Only pensioners, women and children have stayed in the border village where shots are heard periodically. Khachik, 9, says he is afraid of shots, which are fired during school hours. His father is doing seasonal work in Russia. Khachik dreams that his father return soon and they live in peace again.
