Farmers block Vardenis-Karvachar roadway (video)
Residents of Vardenis today blocked Vardenis-Karvachar roadway for several hours in protest against the purchase prices of potatoes. In a live broadcast, opposition lawmaker Nikol Pashinyan conveyed the words of the angered farmers who demand that the Ministry of Defense set the purchase prices for potatoes at AMD 55-60 for them to have a minimum profit. Pashinyan has talked to Minister of Agriculture Ignati Arakelyan, who has promised to visit Gegharkunik region at the end of the week and discuss the issue with local farmers and representatives of Defense Ministry. The lawmaker is going to raise the issue in the National Assembly.
