In the 21st century there are village communities in Armenia, where there is no transportation service. Very often tenders for vacant routes are organized, but they don’t take place for different reasons. As a result the village communities remain isolated. Non-regular passenger transportation and benevolent acts by individuals are full of risks; accidents, malfunction of vehicles, worn-out tires. There is no control; the process of technical inspection isn’t regulated. “Kiraki” (Sunday) program this week hosted Davit Melkonyan, Deputy Head of Department of Transport of the Ministry of Transport and Information Technologies, Head of Department of Transport Policy, and Karen Chilingaryan, Chairman of “Consumer Consultation Center” NGO. Alaverdi “Ankyun +3” and Martuni “Zangak” TV companies prepared video materials for the program.
