EEU is pleased with the RA: economic growth registered
The RA has already achieved economic results from the EEU membership. Saadat Asanseitova, Deputy Director of Integration Development Department of the EEU Commission, told journalists during the joint sitting of the RA NA Standing Committee on Foreign Relations and the RF FA Federal Council’s International Committee and added, “If we observe 9 months of 2016, we can see that the RA is the only country, which has enlarged exportation to the EEU, increasing exportation of industrial and agricultural products by 1.6 times, exportation of textile industry and footwear by 2.5 times. It shows that Armenia is recovering its economy. If in 2015 there was economic decline, now exportation volumes are stepping up.” Besides, she thinks, that the RA is the country, where the highest growth in the GDP has been registered, 2.8 % in the first half of 2016, “It is higher than the average index in the EEU countries. Besides, in terms of labor market, Armenians are able to move freely in the EEU territory, which has granted an opportunity to be involved in the Russian market 2.5 times more in the first half of 2016. It happens thanks to the social guarantees, regulations granted by the EEU agreement. We have also registered growth in investments; since 2011-15, investments from the EEU countries to Armenia have increased for 7 times. Only the investments of 2015 in Armenia make up 3 milliards in such leading directions as food, alcoholic beverages, textile etc.”
