Members of “Sasna Dzrer” group won’t be brought to court (video)
Members of “Sasna Dzrer” group Varuzhan Avetisyan, Sergey Kyureghyan, Gagik Yeghiazaryan and Smbat Barseghyan, as well as Karo Yeghnukyan and Hovhannes Ghazaryan, who have been detained under the article of supporting the armed group, will not come to the Court of General Jurisdiction of Yerevan Kentron and Nork-Marash Administrative Districts. They, as witnesses, must have been called to the court hearing on the case of Gevorg Safaryan, who was detained after having tried to install Christmas tree at New Year night. Preliminary investigation body sent a note to the Court of General Jurisdiction of Yerevan Kentron and Nork-Marash Administrative Districts, by reporting that their contact with other people, as well as journalists, was prohibited, as they may have reported preliminary investigation evidence. To remind, Gevorg Safaryan and his advocate presented a mediation to the court and were sure that those witnesses could provide significant information in connection with the case. Judge Mnatsakan Martirosyan decided to publish their evidence given during the preliminary investigation. After that statement the defense side announced that it wanted to present a mediation for withdrawal to the judge and asked for time for presenting the withdrawal. Tigran Hayrapetyan accused Mnatsakan Martirosyan of being biased. After returning from the consultation room, the judge refused the mediation considering it to be baseless. Before the mediation for withdrawal, the defense side presented the court such videos, which prove the innocence of Gevorg Safaryan. Gevorg Safaryan stated that the videos prove that the policemen had given false testimony, and after the incident Gevorg Khachatryan, who was recognized an aggrieved party into the case, had no injuries on his face. The court hearing will continue on November 23.
