For several months now, residents of 50 and 50a Mashtots Avenue have being going down to the yard of the building with fear in their hearts. They fear lest the power pole with electric wires might fall down on someone. “I have several grandchildren and I fear to think what may happen. They [officials] seem to be waiting for some catastrophe to come and investigate the consequences,” said Lyova Muradyan, one of the angered residents living at that address. Large vehicles cannot enter the yard as the power pole has stooped down under the burden of the wires. “A lorry once entered the yard. The driver had not noticed the hanging wires and they caught fire. The vehicle drove to the substation without noticing the flames,” said another resident, Suren Vasilyan. The only substation of the area is located in the yard of these buildings.  The electric wires and cables of the neighboring cafes pass through the yard. The Electric Networks of Armenia CJSC told us that the wires were self-made and did not belong to the company. Anyway, they expressed readiness to solve the problem and pass the electric wires under the ground.
