Nerses Poghosyan, who was arrested along lines of the case of Jirayr Sefilyan, leader of “Centennial without the regime” movement and who has been holding hunger strike for already 15 days, may start thirst strike. “He wants the problem to be solved and the chosen illegal precautionary measure to be changed,” advocate Arayik Papikyan told “A1+”. The preliminary investigation into the case has ended. Time has been given to the advocates until February in order to get acquainted with the materials of the case. “He doesn’t complain why it has been extended; he complains why especially the extension of the last precautionary measure was applied in his case. According to the law, the only base for extending the precautionary measure is the mediation by the preliminary investigation body. In case of Nerses Poghosyan, there was no mediation; there was only one note, a sheet of paper,” added the advocate. Not taking into account this fact, the Court of Appeal didn’t change the decision of the Court of First Instance. Angry at that Nerses Poghosyan started hunger strike. He, having been in custody for already 7 months, is accused of being a member of the organized group. “But it was noted that he didn’t join any group, refused to commit a crime.” This year for the first time the family will celebrate New Year without Nerses. “Our family will be incomplete, without very important essential part, I would say- the most important,” says Nerses’s wife, Lia Poghosyan. Three underage children of Nerses asked Santa to bring back their father.
