Bread prices go up by 40 drams
January 10, 2017 was not an ordinary day for residents of Goris city. It was marked by an increase in the price of bread. The prices of bread went up by 40 drams overnight. From now on locals will have to pay 200 drams to buy a loaf of bread weighing 480-500 drams instead of the former 160 drams. In reply to a journalist’s question what the price hike was determined by, one of the local manufacturers said, “In the past we paid 10 400 drams for a 50 kg flour sack while today we buy it at 10 900 drams. That is why we raised the price by 40 drams.” At the same time he added that a loaf of bread will weigh 600 grams.
