Nerses Poghosyan, who was taken into custody following the arrest of Zhirayr Sefilyan, the leader of the Founding Parliament opposition movement, has begun a hunger strike in prison to protest against the decision of a Yerevan court which extended his detention for another two months. Poghosyan was arrested in June on coup charges. He also refuses to drink fluids. While taking the decision, the Court of General Jurisdiction of Yerevan’s Arabkir and Kanaker-Zeytun districts did not take into consideration the references of over 500 figures, including artists, musicians and historians. Nerses Poghosyan went on a hunger strike almost one month ago to protest against the charges leveled against him. The protest did not produce any result, instead, it worsened the inmate's health condition
