A1+ TV'S LETTER TO MISTER AGO

Social

On 23 of May, 2002, the President of "A1+" TV Company Mesrop Movsesyan addressed the following letter to Mr Ago, Chair of the Monitoring Group of the Committee of Ministers of the Council of Europe, during the group's visit to Armenia:

"Dear Mr. Ago

Our “A1+” TV Company attaches great importance to the fact, that the company deprivation of broadcasting license was discussed among other issues during your meetings held in Armenia.

You are aware that the “A1+” Company’s case is now being considered in court. It is mentioned in our suit filed against Television and Radio National Commission, that the Commission striped the company of broadcasting in violation of law.

After your final press conference, media disseminated a report quoting you as saying you admit the A1+ broadcasting was terminated within the law, however, without specifying on what documents your opinion is based.

We would appreciate if you confirm or refute you have alleged said. Respecting your authoritative opinion, we would like to know weather mentioned above words said by you, or journalists misrepresented your idea.

Thank you beforehand

Mesrop Movsessyan

President of A1+ TV Company"
