WHO IS AMALYAN? DECIDE YOURSELF!

On May the 24-th, 2002, the interview with Grigor Amalyan, the chairman of TV and Radio National Commission, was published in "Hayots Ashkharh" Daily. Mr. Amalyan said in the interview that by the 20-th of June a competition would be announced for the frequency ranges of "Ar", "Prometevs", "Cinemax", "NTV" TV Channels which were on the air without licences.

But today Ishkhan Vardanyan, the head of the Licencing Department of the Commission informed "Noyan Tapan" News Agency that the coming competition would take place on October the 15-th. The Commission will accept the documents within 25 days and the results of the competition will be known on November the 23-rd. More than 10 TV and Radio frequency ranges will be put on the competition.

The statement by the head of Licencing Department runs counter to that by Grigor Amalyan. They named deadlines which differ from each other. Besides, the frequency ranges named by Amalyan are absent among those by Ishkhan Vardanyan.

We can conclude

Either Amalyan lied

Or he is not competent in the work he is powered to do

Or the Authorities were afraid that "A1+" could take part in the competition on those frequency ranges and decided to announce for it as late as possible.
