EDUCATION SYSTEM NEW PROJECT IS UNDER DISCUSSION

Education and Science Ministry has worked out a new education system project, according to which study in secondary school will last 12 years instead of 10.

Children will start their education at age 6. Primary school study duration will be 4 years, the middle-school study will last 5 years and the final stage of secondary education - 3.

Among the subjects outlined in the project are Armenian and foreign languages, mathematics, advanced computer technologies, nature, society and art.

The ministry proposes a 10-point knowledge-assessment system for routine study and a 20-point one for written exams.

Summing-up discussions over the project will be held in Yerevan and provinces.
