Since 1994, about 23.000 people have migrated in the Nagorno Karabakh Republic for permanent residence, 150 settlements have been reconstructed, 120 of which - from “zero”.

According to Chief Department on the Issues of Migration, Refugees and Resettlement under the NKR Government Serge Amirkhanian, 623 people (120 families) migrated in the republic for 8 months - since January till August 2004. The index is higher than the corresponding one of the last year.

According to the Chief Department, certain work is conducted in the law-making sphere, in particular, in establishing privileges for Armenian refugees deported from Azerbaijan in 1988-1992, and resolving their social-housing problems.
