YEREVAN MAYOR SPEAKING AT NEWS CONFERENCE

On Monday, Yereven mayor Yervand Zakharyan, speaking at a news conference, said the construction of the municipality new building is expected to be completed by Nov 26.

The mayor spoke also on the dilapidated buildings that are badly in need of repair and pose threat to the tenants. He says there are many buildings in Yerevan’s Achapnyank district that are in extremely precarious state and will be reduced to rubble in the event of earthquake.

Zakharyan said the building tenants were given compensation, but didn’t specify, if so, why they didn’t want to leave their apartments.
