Support A1+!”The present education system of Armenia is in a sad state”. 81% of experts and 47% of citizens who partook in the survey conducted by Armenian Centre for National and International Studies /ACNIS/ concluded.
The results of the expert and public poll on “The Urgent Topics of the Political Agenda of Armenia and the Public Opinion” were represented in the centre. 100 experts and 2002 people from Yerevan and the districts of Armenia have partaken in it.
”Education is the second mirror of the society but such appraisals are beyond my imagination”, Nurijan Manukyan, head of Control Section of Department for General Education of Armenian Education and Science Ministry said referring to the survey results.
According to him, reforms are now implemented in the sphere. The schoolbooks will be changed by 2006.
22% of the experts expressed concern over the content of the educational programs and 34% worried about bribery. “We are not aware of any bribe-taking case in a school”, Nurijan Manukyan announced.
By his words, collecting money from schoolchildren is just whip-round and the school directors are allowed to do it to maintain schools. Manukyan said it must not be carried out imposingly.
