DO YOU CHOOSE EUROPE OR …?
Support A1+!1039 young people from Yerevan and regions took part in the social survey organized by the Armenian social demographic initiative group. They were asked to express opinion on the European values and Armenia’s integration into the European structures. The discussion of the survey results was held today in Congress Hotel.
Research head Nelson Shahnazaryan noted that mutually excluding and contradictory results were fixed. For example, when answering the question “How do you perceive the rule of law and state?” 40% of the respondents demonstrated the so-called Euro-mentality stressing the importance of human rights, tolerance towards national minorities, right of women, labor discipline, ethics, democracy, etc.
20% spoke out against Europe, the rest remained undecided. When asked “do you want Armenia to integrate into the European structures?” 73% said “yes”.
The research had the purpose to find out whether we are ready to integrate Europe and how far is our mentality from that of Europe.
