RECONSTRUCTION IN "ARMENTEL"

Today the head of the trade union of «Armentel» Rafik Vardanyan rendered a press conference to comment on the reasons of the strike of the “Informational Technologies” department of the company.

“At present “Armentel” is under reconstruction, that’s why changes of posts of some of the workers are possible. We all know that the service of the company leaves much to be desired, so the heads of the company make huge investments to provide connection corresponding to the international standards”, Mr. Vardanyan commented.

But Rafik Hovhannisyan was truly indignant at the 43 of the 6500 workers of Armentel who threatened to go on strike. “They form a small part of the staff and have represented reasons for their complaint which have no grounds. Perhaps their demands are not absurd, but announcing is one thing, as proving is another”, he said.

Then he announced that he has spoken to each of the strikers separately, but later he contradicted himself saying that he has not seen any of them.

The head of the trade union of «Armentel» demonstrated a document signed on July 6 which was called “Collective contract”, he also quoted parts of the Labor Code according to which the workers do not have the right to go on strike during their working period. That is, their announcements simply compromise the good reputation of the company.

Nevertheless, worker of the “Armentel” “Informational Technologies” department, head of the strike committee Haroutyun Kharatyan told the journalists something else after the press conference. “Until yesterday there was no collective contract, and our demands are totally grounded, and during the press conference tomorrow we will give the answer to every question”, he said.
