At 11:41 17 years ago the whole Armenia mourned. The December 7 earthquake in 1988 turned 40% of the territory of Armenia into the «disaster zone». The fortitude of the earthquake in the epicenter which included the city of Spitak and its 12 villages was 10 degrees. 21 towns and 342 villages suffered from the earthquake. 514 thousand people were left shelterless. According to the official information there were 25 thousand victims.

Today, 17 years later, the wound left by the earthquake has not healed yet. December 7 of 1988 will remain in the memories of thousands of people as a black page of history reminding them of the numerous innocent victims of the disaster.
