“Can the Government answer shy the salary of the scientist is lower than the average salary in the Republic?” a number of scientists expressed their indignation in the National Academy of Scientists. The reminded that their salary is only 27 thousand AMD a month.

“Science has not been financed by the state for 15 years. The state budget allots only 1% of the sum to the sciences. Today the average salary of the scientists is the lowest in the republic”, head of the NAS scientific-educational center Albert Sargsyan said. According to the scientists, in this situation it is immoral to criticize the work of the Academy.

According to the Academy members, the Academy needs young specialists. «Who will come here to work for 27 thousand AMD? The young specialists go either abroad or to private offices», Albert Sargsyan said.

In any case, according to some members of the Academy, if the President of the Academy changes, the situation will get better. In answer to them the head of the «Armenian Genocide Museum-Institute» Laurenti Barseghyan announced, «Fadey Sargsyan's resigning will not solve your problems».
