Support A1+!The trial of the three soldiers who are accused of the murder of Hovsep Mkrtoumyan and Roman Eghiazaryan which has been continuing in the Court of Appeal for months has been paused again, until Razmik Sargsyan will cease the hunger strike. “Razmik Sargsyan informed that he cannot understand the speech of the lawyers and the prosecutor as he has been on hunger strike for the last 15 days. So we postpone the trial until he ceases the hunger strike,” announced Judge Mher Arghamanyan.
According to the court regulation, lawyer Stepan Voskanyan was to make his speech today. Before that he asked the Judge to allow him to take the diskette the information of which he needed for the speech. The judge did not refuse him but mentioned, «You can use it later. The diskette is here, but you must bring your computer and take the information that you need. » That's why the lawyers submitted a petition either to be allotted time in order to be able to bring their computer or to give them the diskette on the spot in order to copy.
It is noteworthy that the lawyers demanded from the court the diskette which includes the decoding of the mobile phone conversations of the commanders of the soldiers during December 2003 and January 2004 which was not taken into account during the trial. According to the lawyers, the diskette will reveal the relation of the commanders to the case.
The court turned down the petition.
