GOVERNMENT MET KOZERN RESIDENTS HALFWAY

On February 28, Pastark Club hosted Samvel Mkrtchyan, leader of the «Community and Right» NGO dealing with the residents' issues.

«We shall do our utmost to settle the issue of Kozern and enjoy victory-100 per cent result. Over 300 residents of the district were likely to appear in the street but thanks to our drastic measures they weren't left outdoors», Samvel Mkrtchyan announced.

Many residents of the district have succeeded in getting certificates to property; only the requests of some dwellers have been turned down on groundless motivations.

Currently the NGO is engaged in the issue of Miasnikyan district. «We have come to an agreement with the RA Government. The violated rights of the residents of that district will likely be restored», Mr. Mkrtchyan stated. The chairman of «Community and Right» NGO urged to hold a press conference on the matter «as everybody seems to be concerned over the forthcoming elections and the issue of Miasnikyan district will likely be ignored for some time».

In his words, the milder stance of the government is determined by the obstinacy of the residents and not by the upcoming elections.

Most of the buildings in Miasnikyan district have no property certificates though they have applied to the Cadastre many times. It is noteworthy that the district is not included in the disputed «zone of alienation».
