THEY ARE WAITING FOR THE MEETING WITH SERGE SARGSYAN
Support A1+!ROA Prime Minister Serge Sargsyan promised to meet the residents, disposed of the areas for state needs, on 15 May, after the elections. A week has passed since then but no meeting has been arranged with the residents. “A promise concerning the residential problem of a dozen of people should be solved. I wonder if the elections hampered the usual working life, particularly the Government’s activities”, said the previous Human Rights Defender Larisa Alaverdyan during the “Protection of Economic Rights” seminar. According to her, the process of disposing was carried out with law violation and citizens were unable to protect their rights properly.
“We will be decisive and in case the Prime Minister does not receive us we will organize a protest action again. We will do our best to give a proper solution to our problems. They want to make money from every square meter. Our Mayor also tried to bribe me”, said Vachagan Hakobyan, Head of the “Property Right Protection” NGO.
Issues related to the protection of labor and property were discussed during the seminar. As mentioned Larisa Alaverdyan, the aim of the seminar was to aware the concerned organizations and groups about the protection of RA citizen’s labor and property rights.
Representatives of NGOs, the State Labour Inspection and members of State Servant’s Agency and suffered citizens participated in the seminar. The seminar was organized by the support of Open Society Institute.
