Social

Dwellers of the Main and Northern Avenues, Dalma Garden owners, as well as former employees of Armenian aviation gathered in front of the Government building today. The participants of the demonstration had various demands, but all of them wanted to meet the Prime Minister.

According to the dwellers, on the eve of elections the Prime Minister promised to meet them after the elections and find a solution to their problem. One month has passed since then but nothing has changed. “The Prime Minister promised, let him come out and say that he is unable to help us and we will not bother him. The Yerevan Municipality takes no measures to improve the situation. How long shall we stay without shelters?”, complained Vachagan Hakobyan, Head of “Protection of Privacy Right” NGO. Karen Davtyan, Deputy Mayor of Yerevan, came to listen to the complaints of the dwellers. However, demonstrators were not animated by his presence: “There is no use of him. He has come to lie again”.

The other group of the demonstrators - former aviation employees demanded their salary for the last 6 months. “Serge Sargsyan received us in April and only today he ordered to solve our problem. We appealed to him for 1000 times. We hope that we will not be deceived another time”, said on of the pilots.

343 former employees of the Armenian aviation did not get payment for 6 months. Their salary is about 169 million drams. By the way, no one responded to the claims of the dwellers.
