WHAT’S GOING ON AT “HAYPOST”?

One of the organizations belonging to Mr. Ernekyan is in charge of the accreditation management of “Haypost” and the organization is connected to us, the shareholder,” told “A1+” director of “Converse” bank Ararat Ghukasyan.

Meanwhile, deputy director of the State Property Management Department Ashot Markosyan told “A1+” that he had no idea who the new manager after Hans Boon is and whether there was a manager or not.

“I can’t say anything for sure in regard to Ernekyan because our organization doesn’t have any document stating that Ernekyan is the buyer. We only sign a contract with the main organization,” said Markosyan. Let us mention that “Haypost Trust Management” is the sister organization in Armenia.

According to Markosyan, there was certain amount of confusion at “Haypost” based on resolution N956 of the RA Government according to which the manager of the company has changed, but Markosyan did not state the name of the new manager. What Markosyan did say was that the only thing that changes is the transfer of right of management.

According to Markosyan, one of the most important points in the “Haypost” management plan refers to the foundation of the bank that was supposed to be funded by the postal system; so, one of the main errors that Boon made during his term was that he did not found a bank.

“Many postal transactions are made and having a bank was essential for “Haypost”, stated Markosyan. Do you mean “Postbank”? In response to that, Markosyan said that that is exactly the bank that he was referring to.

“But “PostBank” is going to be a separate bank because banks, according to the law on activities of banks”, can’t do business. That is why the bank must not have anything to do with “HayPost”,” said Markosyan.

Director of “Converse” bank Ararat Ghukasyan stated that “Haypost”, “Converse” bank and “Postbank” are separate legal persons. Meanwhile, rumor has it that “Converse” bank and “Postbank” will unite. To this, “Converse” bank director said that he had to know about that first. “The head of the RA Central Bank has only said that he doesn’t exclude the joining of the banks in Armenia, but it didn’t mean our banks. Only time will show what will happen later,” said head of “Converse” bank.

Head of RA Central Bank Artur Javadyan told “A1+” that the necessary documents for “PostBank” have already been presented and the licensing of the bank will soon be underway.

In response to the rumors that new workers will be trained to work for “Converse” bank and “Haypost”, the head of the bank said that “Haypost” doesn’t train new workers. “Postbank” simply gathers workers and “Converse” bank helps them in the process.

We tried finding out from “Haypost”, but the workers told us that they couldn’t mention anything at the moment.
