On October 7 a car accident took place near the "Chorort Mas" resort on the Geghamavan-Varser inter-district highway.

One rescue team left for the scene from Sevan. In unknown circumstances, the 04 SL 488 state licensed"VAZ-21011" car and the 10 OO 966 state licensed "Ford" car collided.

As a result of the accident, driver of the "VAZ-21011" car Edgar Avagyan (born in 1984) and two of the three passengers-Gayane Movsisyan (born in 1969) and Seda Movsisyan (born in 1948) died on the spot. The third passenger, Anna Navasardyan (born in 1987), was transferred to the Sevan central hospital. Doctors say that she is in stable condition.

Driver of the "Ford" car Virab Galstyan (born in 1979) was transferred to the Yerevan "Erebuni" hospital with a leg fragment. Doctors say he is in mid-critical condition.

There was a danger of a fire on the scene and it was extinguished on the spot.
