“Freedom to everyone”
On the day of World Press Freedom journalists of Hetq weekly distributed newspapers to passers-by.
"We give you free press on the day of free press," said the journalists.
If someone refused to take a newspaper, the action participants said, "Free yourself!"
"These people are chained as they are afraid to take a paper and read it in the street," said the journalists who were carrying placards, "There is no freedom without press," "Free press in free country".
The journalists were not only distributing newspapers but also leaving them on pavements and statues.
Even local cops stopped the journalists on the street, asking what they were doing and why. The police were interested enough to ask what issues the paper covered and if the reporters had received permission from the Yerevan Municipality to publicly distribute papers.
Totally, they distributed up to 300-400 items of the weekly.
