City left with power outage

On May 17 at 8 p.m. an alarm was received that heavy rainfall had raised the flow of Ghorghoba River of Shirak province and flooded the basements of homes located on Poghosyan Street in Gyumri.

The province's rescue team left for the scene at 8:10 p.m. and found out that the water of Ghorghoba River had flooded the basements of the 4th, 6th, 10th and 12th houses on Poghosyan Street and the nearby lands in the period between 6:20 to 7:50 p.m.

The municipality of Gyumri and "Shirak water-sewerage" CJSC were informed about the incident.
The mentioned organizations will complete water disposal by May 18.

Wind, rain, hail

On May 17, alarm was received that fruit trees were damaged in Ashtarak city, Karbi and Ohanavan villages due to heavy rainfall and hail from 5-5:30 p.m.

Electric poles and the roof of a village school were torn off due to winds in Ashtarak city and Parpi village from 7-8 p.m. Ashtarak city and Parpi village were partially left in a power outage.
Ashtarak city's electric network recovery team took measures and restored electricity by nearly 90% for Ashtarak city by 8 a.m. on May 18. The team is still working.

According to information from Kotyak province, strong winds tore off and turned over the 90 square meter roof of H. Gevorgyan's house located on 133 Charents Street.

On May 17 at 8:05 p.m. alarm was received that a tree located near house #12 on Shovroyan Street in Yerevan had fallen and closed the road.
The head of the department for planting greenery of Kanaker-Zeytun district of Yerevan was informed about the incident at 8:10 p.m.
The tree will be cut and transferred on May 18.

At 11:30 alarm was received that a large branch of a tree located near 7/2 Alex Manoogian Street of Yerevan had broken off.
The head of the department for planting greenery of Kentron district of Yerevan was informed about the incident at 11:35 p.m.
The tree will be cut and moved on May 18.

Body found

On May 18 at 1:05 a.m. it was informed that an elderly resident living in apartment #28 on 7 Khorenatsi Street of Vanadzor city was neither opening her door nor answering phone calls and a rescue team had to help open the door.
The rescue team from the rescue department of Lori province left for the scene at 1:07 a.m.

The rescue team opened the apartment door and found the body of Amalya Vanyan (born in 1932). The body has been transferred to the police.
