“They were true intellectuals”
"Sardarapat" movement initiative group has released statement mourning for the death of Armenian intellectuals.
"The year 2011 started with bad news for Armenia. The country lost three of its talents - renowned conductor Ohan Durian, translator and lawyer and human rights advocate Anahit Bayandur and public figure Simon Kamsarakan passed away in the first week of January.
The three intellectuals represented different generations but they had one common characteristic - they were genuine intellectuals and citizens who have always stood next to the Armenian people.
Their loss is irreparable. With their life and civic behavior they set a good sample for every Armenian.
Their honest name and memory will live with us forever," reads the statement.
