Who are “Bazazes”?
Open-air vendors today staged a protest outside the Armenian Radio Broadcast building.
Chanting "Shame on you!" the protesters complained of political analyst Gevorg Altunyan who offended them in his program Tesaket (Viewpoint).
"Altunyan called us "Gikors" (slaves) and the parties supporting us "Bazazes" (merchants). Yes, our country is made up of Gikors and Bazazes but these Bazazes represent the interests of our authorities," said one of the protesters.
The vendors conveyed a letter to the Public Television and Radio Council.
They are going to continue protests in front of "Yerevan City" supermarkets.
