“We should purify our Mother Tongue all year round”
February 21 is International Mother Language Day.
"We should fight for the purity of our Mother Tongue all year round, using all the means at hand," said Sergo Yeritsyan, Head of the RA State Language Inspectorate.
The Language Inspectorate is attempting to reveal the consequences of law violations.
"Legislative shortcomings cause numerous difficulties. In many cases, it is difficult to determine whether there is a violation or not," said Mr. Yeritsyan.
"Lawbreakers pay a small fine ranging from AMD 30000 to AMD 70000. It is necessary to raise the fines to increase the sense of responsibility," he concluded.
