“Can you check my wife’s prostate gland as well?”
"Sterility is rather common among Armenian men," says urologist Raffi Janetsyan.
According to him, there are many reasons and one of them is having multiple partners. Contagious diseases are also common due to extra-marital relations.
The doctor says the reason for the emergence of diseases is people's lifestyles and family discipline. According to him, children should be informed by parents and schools without any shame since there is a lack of information.
"I checked a patient and he asked if I could check his wife's prostate gland as well."
The doctor also said there are cases when doctors prescribe the wrong medicine or patients extend the treatment by telling themselves that they are seriously ill.
"I had that kind of a patient today. He didn't have any problems, but some doctor had told him that he is in a very serious situation," said Janetsyan.
Raffi Janetsyan views this kind of an approach as careless and non-professional.
"These kinds of doctors make our reputation go down and people prefer to treat themselves."
But the effects of treating yourself can be irreversible.
