The prices of gasoline have gone in Armenia, bringing another surprise to local drivers.

A liter of regular gasoline is sold for 450 drams against the previous 430 drams. Premium is sold for 470 drams instead of the previous 450 drams.

"In the past, the increase in petrol prices was explained by currency fluctuations. Today we were simply told to increase the prices by 20 drams without any reasons," said Vardan Karapetyan, an employee of CPS refueling station.

Karapetyan noted that advance in prices also affected the sale volumes: the station which used to sell 500 liters of gasoline a day today sells 300 liters at best.

"Even foreign cars stop to fill 2-3 liters of gasoline which is a real tragedy," he said.

A year ago a liter of premium gasoline cost 350 drams.
