Literary critic Hovik Charkhchyan sounded the alarm of the destruction of Yeghishe Charents's tomb, and youth members of the Nigol Aghbalian Student Union responded.

The youth today visited Charents's tomb located on the left side of the Yerevan-Etchmiadzin highway and near the gate of Second President Robert Kocharyan's villa and cleaned the poet's tomb.

Let us remind that the exact location of Charents's tomb is unknown and the only thing that we know is that his tomb was secretly taken out of prison and to an unknown location in 1937.

"Only in 1996 was it proved that Charents's body parts are buried here. Regardless of whether this is the poet's tomb or not, we are trying to kept it clean" member of the Nigol Aghbalian Student Union Vanik Chaloyan told "A1+" and expressed hope that vandals wouldn't try to destroy the tomb again.

We inform that Charents's tomb is seen through the surveillance cameras placed at Robert Kocharyan's villa.
